COMMUNITY AND TRADITION
Guru Khalsa Panth
The Khalsa is important because the Khalsa:
- has the status of Guru after Guru Gobind Rai Ji bowed before it and joined it, and after they ordered him to leave the fort of Chamkaur.
- creates the code of conduct for Sikhs (Sikh Rehat Maryada).
- is an organisation that Guru Gobind Singh Ji joined and so if Sikhs want to follow his example they also should join the Khalsa.
- is one family as the Singhs are the sons, and the Kaurs the daughters, of Guru Gobind Singh Ji and Mata Sahib Kaur Ji. The Khalsa is the House of the Guru.
