Kiddush Celebrate the learning that has taken place this half term by staging a class Kiddush. Kiddush is the blessing that is recited over a shared cup of wine, but it can also refer to a celebration meal after a synagogue service that helps to promote a sense of community. You might wish to eat Jewish food such as challah, honey cake, bagels, etc.. Children could write a prayer or pledge to be recited at the end of the celebration meal. To enliven the celebration, you might wish to play some traditional Jewish folk or Klezmer music. You can find a number of long clips of Klezmer music by visiting www.kolharuach.com/songlist.htm The band’s homepage also has two excellent concert videos. |
