Josiah Restores the Temple

Introduction

Begin by revising what was taught in the previous lesson about the building of Solomon's Temple. About five hundred years after Solomon, the Temple was not the same admired building that it had once been. However, a new king called Josiah, was going to put things right.

Main Activity

Share with children the story of Josiah

Following discussion, groups of children could:

  • write / talk about what they would do if they were king.
  • re-dedicate themselves to a cause / a routine that they have neglected.

Extension

Find out what happened to Josiah.

Plenary

Continue the Temple time-line.
