Whether or not you are able to take a walk in the countryside this Easter, we hope that this virtual Easter Garden will bring you pleasure and hope. It comes with good wishes from all at Culham and the RE and Environment Project.

Like the Advent Calendar published by Culham, this Easter Garden is for pleasure but can also be used as a teaching resource, easily adaptable for age ranges from Key Stage Two upwards to create a new approach to a perennial story. All the pages are downloadable and you will find many unusual slants on characters in the Easter narrative such as Judas, Pontius Pilate and Joseph of Arimathea, together with some of the traditions and legends that have formed around them, and reflections on what the Easter story has to tell us. Perhaps some will be inspired to build their own Easter Gardens in schools, places of worship or at home.

It would be easy to adapt the material to create collective worships and to develop cross-curricular work with art, science and history.

The countryside suffers from many troubles, some probably directly attributable to humanity's lack of understanding of the natural world and good stewardship. We hope that this Easter Garden will be a focus for reflection.

HAPPY EASTER
