Sewa (Selfless Service)

• A Sikh should not think that any labour is beneath one's dignity or honour.
• It is good for Sikhs to do such service as cleaning shoes, cooking and serving food, and sweeping the floor in the Gurdwara as it shows the dignity of labour and service.
• The serving of free vegetarian food is called langar and is a distinctive feature of Sikhism.
