COMMUNITY AND TRADITION
Guru Khalsa Panth
The Khalsa is important because the Khalsa:
- has the status of Guru after Guru Gobind Rai bowed before it and joined it, and after they ordered him to leave the fort of Chamkaur.
- creates the code of conduct for Sikhs (Sikh Reht Maryada).
- is an organisation that Guru Gobind Singh joined and so if Sikhs want to follow his example they also should join the Khalsa.
- is one family as the Singhs are the sons, and the Kaurs the daughters, of Guru Gobind Singh and Mata Sahib Kaur. The Khalsa is the House of the Guru.
