Maundy Thursday

On Maundy Thursday, we remember Jesus saying goodbye to his disciples. He washed their feet and they ate a meal together - what we know as the Last Supper.

ACTIVITY ONE

When Jesus washed his disciples feet he was setting an example of how we should try to serve each other - no matter how lowly the task.

Mother Teresa is famous for following Jesus' example and being ready to help anyone - yes anyone.

This page has the words of Mother Teresa - can you put these words with something you have done to help someone? You could do this with pictures or in your own writing.

ACTIVITY TWO

The Holy Communion service - is also called The Eucharist or The Lord's Supper - and is for many Christians the most important part of their worship.
The service can be a powerful link connecting Jesus with those who follow him today and strongly influencing how they live their lives.
These links to images of the Last Supper show how artists have tried to illustrate Jesus' Last Supper through the ages and to different cultures.
You might choose some of the pictures and say what they say to you - and compare that with your own experience of Holy Communion, or the experience of others you know who do receive Holy Communion today.
