Ash Wednesday is the first day of Lent. Sometimes Christian believers are marked with a cross of ash to show their repentance, their desire to correct the wrongs in their lives.

ACTIVITY ONE

Write about a time when you were sorry - and how you showed that you really were.

What are the signs of people being sorry when they've done something wrong?

The sign of 'ashes' some people wear on Ash Wednesday is to show that they are sorry for the wrong they do.
ACTIVITY TWO

How can you convince someone that you are sorry?

When there is bad news how should we react if we are following the example of Jesus?
